This Privacy Policy explains what data the Orbit Upsells app ("Orbit", "we", "us") collects and how we use it when a Shopify merchant installs it on their store.
What we collect
- Store configuration you create in the app: upsell groups, lookbook content, custom CSS/JS, and settings.
- Aggregate analytics events from your storefront: widget impressions, add-to-cart actions, and order attribution. These contain product IDs and prices only — no shopper names, emails, addresses, or payment details.
- Support messages you send to our team through the in-app chat, including any screenshots or files you choose to attach.
- Shopify session tokens needed to keep the app connected to your store, and your store contact email (used only to follow up on support requests).
What we do NOT collect
We do not collect or store personal data about your customers (shoppers). The app reads product catalog and recommendation data from Shopify to show upsells, but does not record shopper identities.
How we use it
Solely to provide the app: render and configure your widgets, show you analytics, and respond to your support requests. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising.
Where it is stored
Data is stored on our hosting and database providers (Render and Supabase) in the United States, protected by their security controls. Support attachments are stored with your conversation.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while the app is installed. When you uninstall, Shopify sends us a deletion request and we delete all data associated with your store. You can also request deletion any time by contacting us. We honor Shopify's mandatory GDPR data-request and redaction webhooks.
